6-keto??

Post by the_buffer »

I saw a post rob made asking about an ecdy product and what was its 6-keto analog...

firstly, what is a 6-keto analog, what does it do (in relation to ecdysterone) and is there something that performs this function in KA?

Thanks.

My two cents-

We would never adulterate Kre-Anabolyn's ecdy content by adding any other/additional ecdy styled compound to the very specific and proven full spectrum RCE cited in all the valid research (which is called '10 levseins', although more than ten have now been discovered).

6-Keto is interesting, and has many uses, but it is nothing new despite others claiming credit for first bringing it to the bodybuilding market in recent years.

I had an extensive discussion about it back in the late 80's with ecdy pioneer Mark Theirman, who had a highly refined version of it in his original Mesobolin at the time.

Bottom line, it was a rare flop product for his company, Amino Discounters, and did little to nothing for users after a mild boost for about two weeks. He admitted as much to me and generally lamented that it was "very fickle to work with".

It's an extraction from wild yam, and generally has more estrogenic properties than anabolic. It can be converted to ecdysone, pregnenolone, and progesterone (DHEA can also be converted from Wild Yam, but generally isn't today).

Many years later, Thierman was behind a product called Anabolica which also was (or, at least to some degree) a diosgenin analog. Rob liked it a good bit, but I did not because of estrogenic sides and at MASS we declined a distributorship offer from Maxwell (to their surprise).

6-Keto itself would add nothing to the Kre-Anabolin formula other than window dressing, IMO, and would disrupt the specific RCE ratio - which is the last thing we'd want to have happen.

Not saying it's worthless, not at all, but it's not close to real Rhaponticum Carthamoides Extract in anabolic effect (emphasis on real) and adding it on top could potentially weaken the potent RCE effect.

Why toss a slice of bologna on a filet mignon?
