2-4 prior to training is fairly standard as a pre-workout guideline for Nitro AKG.
Same for those using it for, ahem, other "physical activity enhancement".
For general bodybuilding benefits, spread out a daily dosage based on the bodyweight guidelines on the bottle. In this most common style of use, the key benefits of the timed release are really seen.
Me, I actually chew two and take two additional whole to get a fast burst of NO up front and then a staggered release ongoing, used this way before a long 3 hour bike training ride.

Q: "Have you seen the powder that contains arginine alpha-ketoglutarate
like your Nitro AKG and NO2, but also has creatine and stimulants mixed in?
I thought using creatine with stims and A-AKG was a bad idea?"
A: First, be aware that simple powder versions (and most tablets) of A-AKG
are a hoodwink, with or without creatine. A plain mix is NOT the legitimate,
bonded A-AKG compound found in Nitro AKG.
Further, these items don't incorporate Patented pH and Sustained Release
Delivery. Look, anyone can mix plain L-Arginine and Alpha-Ketoglutarate
powder together and - technically - call it "A-AKG".
If only it were so easy as that to produce the real compound and get
the great Nitro AKG results.
However, after saturating Nitro AKG (or the other, overpriced but legit
A-AKG you mentioned) it is perfectly fine and good to add Kre-Alkalyn
or Kre-Anabolyn to your stack. You'll love the synergistic effects.
