I know Keto can be very helpful for the famine stage which is only 5 days or so but I was wondering if i could stay on keto for any of the other stages.....maybe change it to a CKD.

ive been a keto for some weeks now and see good results from it so i would like to stick to it if possible to keep the fat coming off.

It's possible but not optimal.

The Blueprint's training protocol calls for rapidly shifting from HIT to multiple set EDT/GLP's etc. These templates lend themselves better (much better) to carb based diets.

If you're still wanting to do keto, a targeted keto diet (TKD) would be the best option.

Hope that helps..

Correct. A CKD would be the Anabolic Diet, introducing carbs at regular intervals (weekends) and cycling through repeated phases like that.

A TKD is much more savvy. It introduces carbs where (I think) it makes more sense.... right around the workout.

Overall, you should tinker with all of these approaches to see what works best for you. Looking through your history Cookie (and I did a deep dive both here and in other forums), you do much better on a carb based diet. We know that now so from here, it's just a matter of calorie rotation. Consider the following:

120% of maintenance of training days and 100% on off days if looking to bulk with minimal fat gain

100% of maintenance on both training and off days for about 2 weeks to transition to...

100% of maintenance on training days and 70% of maintenance on off days for no more than 2 weeks to get any little bit of fat off that's bothering you.

The additional 20% of calories in option 1 should come in the form of your peri-workout drink for it is here where they can benefit you most. Likewise the last option should concentrate at least 20% of your days calories (out of 100% of maintenance) in that drink .

Hope that helps!

Yeh I think in the future im going to try TKD in a cut(my next run after I finish the current TKD bulk) and then full on carbs in a bulk and see how that goes. But I want to try huge amounts of calories in that bulk, more than the first time.

Maybe experiment with TKD with huge amounts of calories in the future also.

Also I think your spot on with the two weeks. For me thats where I make 70% of my gains.

What about integrating keto into the first half (to 2/3's +/-) of Maint?
