My back!?

Post by Suedec »

My lats are unproportionate. My left side is much more developed than my right and I was curious if there is anything I can do in the BP to help even them out more.

I know I tend to put more on my left side because of this. Any advice?

One thing I do is use movements that allow me to isolate the side of the back Such as using Dumb Bells instead of barbells. It forces the weak side to work and not be compensated by the side of your back that is stronger.

You think instead of BB BP, I should use the DB and possibly make my right side a little heavier than the left since it is the weaker side?

Good recommendations here... it's called unilateral training.

Briefly, you're going to use dumbells for most movements and work the weak side harder. This can be accomplished by using either heavier weights or more reps with the same weight. Of those two, I'd highly suggest the latter strategy with a 20-30% increase in reps to get it done.

Hope that helps!
