MASS PRO vs. WalMart Body Fortress Whey - Exposed
Posted: Fri Aug 28, 2009 4:31 am
Sometimes, it's what they DON'T mention on the label that matters the most.
I was in WalMart the other day and noticed their "Super Advanced Whey Protein", 2lbs for just $14.99. Had cross flow micro/ultra filtered whey isolate, concentrate, di and tri peptides, immunoglobulins etc. PLUS added creatine, leucine, taurine etc.. On label alone, this is a superior product to MassPro at a fraction of the price, right?
Not so fast. I suspected that it was dried using heat, which greatly de-natures the protein and cross links it rendering it virtually useless. The poor digestion of this product alone should be the tip off, but to be absolutely certain I emailed the company for a written record.
Well well, it turns out it's heated up to 170 degrees during processing! Compare that to NO heat in the creation of MassPro, which yields an astounding 100% biologically active protein/amino acid profile.
You wouldn't know that though, reading their label. They just don't mention it, hoping you won't notice.
Buyer beware!

Super Advanced Whey Protein
Hi -
Is your whey dried with heat or low heat? Or is it cold processed? Not sure if it matters all that much, just curious.
Please let me know.
Thanks!
ROB
