Famine: Coconut Milk
Famine: Coconut Milk
During my new round of BP, I found that coconut milk was very filling, low in calories and only has 1g of protein per serving. I've been making fruit smoothies with it, which are pretty tasty.
1/2 Banana
8oz Coconut Milk
4oz V8 Splash Light: Peach/Mango
A few frozen mango chunks from Dole
Just an idea.

And a great idea at that.. thanks again DV8 for your contribution!!!
Here's something else you may not be aware of: Coconut milk is a rich source of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT's)...

Flavors your shakes pretty damn well too. Not that I'd care about that...
You're talking to a guy who drank 2 cups of vegetable oil to get the calories he needed to bulk up on a high fat, high protein, low carb diet (Mauro DiPasquale's Anabolic Diet).
DON'T try this out of the gate. If you do... I hope you have a Costco membership - because you'll need it for all the Charmin you'll be going through

Brain,
Thanks for the tip, although during famine i was messing around with the warrior diet timing. I ended up fasting until about 1pm then drinking this shake after the workouts.
I've also started incorporating Coconut milk into my shakes for feast. I use it for both my meal replacements and as an addition to "The Formula". Makes each taste delicious!

depends on which you get I think. I am currently trying the "So Delicious Coconut milk" which is unsweetened in a carton. The coconut milk in a can I believe tends to be thicker and may taste more like coconut.
Mixing it in Xtreme Formulation Whey I don't taste any coconut.
Mixing in cold brewed coffee there was no coconut taste, though the coffee tasted off (may have been since it was the last of a week old brew)

IMO, yes. Although it's quite watery, at least the varieties I've tried.beefcake66 wrote:Okay, this may be a really silly question.... but...
does coconut milk taste just like coconut??
I really don't like coconut, mainly the texture of the dried coconut. If it were to taste just like that I may not be able to drink it... but so far I am intrigued and may give it a try anyways...

I've used the following:
So Delicious Unsweetened and Vanilla
Silk Unsweetened and Vanilla
The vanilla varieties of both brands taste pretty good with little to no taste of coconut and it is what i prefer when making my shakes. Adds a nice flavor to them.
The unsweetened varieties seem to be a little more watery in their consistency and have more of a coconut aftertaste.
