Anyone have any experience with high dose Vit B12 supplementation? I know a lot of people who get benfits from the injections, but what about the sublingual form.
My limited research indicates that regular oral form has poor absorption and bioavailability.

Bigpelo isn't really right. Doctors can't even figure out how fat, protein, and carbs relate. Just TRY to find out a direct foolproof method to find the amount, etc... The best they can say is TRIAL AND ERROR! And B vitamins were basically considered to be B because oif further refinement. B6 does relate to a degree to protein and exercise, and many others don't.
So basically, the relation of any one B vitamin to another B vitamin may CHANGE!

I am of the studied opinion that the drug store/wal mart sublingual pink tabs are quite inferior and the general issue caps a near total waste of time and money.
Light is the enemy of B12, and there is a reason besides having a cool appearance as to why 'Burn It Up' caps are colored.
With the proviso you have a legit oral version, the discussion (and rendered results) can change dramatically.

If it's a tab, then it's been heated and most likely has glue-like binders, things which are not optimal for B12 and many other (the majority, really) nutrients.
About the only time a tablet format is most suitable is for particular time-release formulas where heat does not limit or change the properties and B12 is not one of those.

Very insightful as I wasn't aware of this! too much / extremely high dosages (especially in isolation) of b12 will ultimately throw other key processes out of balance…
a week of high (double or triple recommended) dosing of
Quantum Labs Max Stress B Vitamin can produce ‘b12 injection-like’ results
For maint. - high quality dissicated liver and high quality rare grass fed beef ( around dinner time)
high quality nutritional yeast (nearer bedtime)
in most cases of apparent b12 needs, existing b12 stores are adequate and other factors are out of balance, deficit, or unavailable re blood and nerve health… ie in a really healthy ‘probiotics’ balance the body will produce almost enough b12 on its own. hth

Beware current agribusiness paradigms. ( btw I bring this up more to stimulate thought than to influence anyone’s vitamin intake )
Just because something is water soluble doesn’t mean it’s dumped and flushed by default - even in consensus vitamin supplementation models.
Alternative models have healthy intestinal flora and bioavailable cobalt ‘stores’ (plus the all important bioavailable cofactors) as key rather than ingesting the actually miniscule ( good sources of cobalt ) amounts of the various forms of cobalamin like current ‘science’ prescribes. So the word ‘stores’ certainly doesn’t fully describe the processes involved, but was adequate and accurate when used for brevity… I personally went over two years without taking a trace of vit b12 in foods or supps, engaged in regular recreational sports, sex, and partying, felt just fine, and resumed meat and vitamins, etc. by choice and not because of symptoms. A few vegans have gone for decades in perfect health without ‘supplementation’
... not a recommendation, just a note to indicate that things aren't necessarily like wiki, etc articles would have us blve...

A B12 deficiency isn't necessarily going to be THAT obvious, you need VERY little, and I don't think you can say you NEVER got any. Apparently, there are only about 2 BIG things that can happen due to deficiency. One can take years, pernicious anemia, kills in about 3 years, and the other DECADES, alzheimers, and kills in perhaps 60 years!
I was simply saying that you can't say "well, I took a years supply, and I am SET!" BTW the body is almost all water, so you won't flush out EVERYTHING, etc.... every day. Still, why risk it?
