Today was my second leg workout.

Because of some limitations in my gym instead of a rackpull, I did something of a static hold of a standard deadlift. I used 315lbs. The first few inches were the hard part.

Then for my first EDT block it was 4 sets of squats and leg curls. Last time I did 295 x 6 reps for squats, so this time I did 295 x 8 reps for the first 3 sets, then 10 reps for the last set.

RDLs were a somewhat shameful 235 x 8, but hopefully I can get that up in the next few weeks.

I'm really digging the intra-workout formula. It's really nice to do an intense workout and not feel like puking after. I'm just waiting for someone in the locker room to think I'm popping something illegal when I take my KA.

Ha ha!

Try the green banana trick while you're at it. See here:

We'll see about that whole green banana thing. Anyone dumb enough to fall for it deserves to walk around smelling like banana peels.

Anyway, today I did early morning steady state cardio. Being an off-day, I'm at 85% maintenance calories. I'm also back to my 3-on cycle BCAA/glutamine.

Known more than a few to sample "Banana-bol". Few have the discipline to make it through loading.

The ones who do though, got the message :)

The last few days have been kinda wacky.

My brother came up from Pennsylvania for the holidays, and we betgan filming our "Batboy remake", which involved me wearing silver bodypaint and practically no clothing outside. I wound up with an eye infection and a touch of a flu or something.

Fortunately all the craziness hasn't slown me down too much. Of course watching the bluray features on the expendables and seeing Sly fight through several serious injuries will get your mojo up!

Anyway, today I did workout #5 which was upper body.

I started with static holds of bench press. Last time I was using 170lbs but I was holding it at both the top and bottom position. Today I used 210lbs holding it in just the top position.

For my first EDT block, Last time I was using 65 lbs for 8 reps on flat bench DB presses followed by 75 lbs for 8 1-arm DB rows. This time I used the same weight only I did 10 reps. I was down to 1 min rest between sets, so it got really tough towards the end.

Leg day today... and I think it was also "bring your inner jackass to the gym" day. But at least people cutting in line at the fountain, stealing equipment I was in the process of using and generally being as irritating as possible helped fuel my workout.

I attempted to do rack pulls on the resting section of the squat rack, but it only gave me a bout an inch to move, so I moved over to the smith rack instead so I'd get a reasonable amount. I did 320lbs, which was almost bang on as I was able to hold it for 12 sec.

Once again I upped my reps for EDT block of Squats and Ham curls using the same weight -- 295 for squats and 100 for leg curls at 10 reps each set. I was also down to 1 min rest between sets, so I actually only got out 8 leg curls on the last one, but I think it was more to do with being metabolically exhausted than anything else.

static calf raises were up to 190 which is 20lbs heavier than I had originally planned, but I may have actually been able to go higher.

RDLS were up to 275 but only for 5 reps per set.

And I finished off with a block of hanging leg raises/hyper-extensions.

Right now I'm eating a chicken caeser salad for my "solid meal" and it is GOOOOD.

Things sure look like they're coming up roses Buffer. Lots of speculation lately about The Eagle.

Since your's landed, any idea when you're going to let him out his cage??

It hasn't actually landed yet, when it does I'll be touching base with you to see if it would be worth starting right away or waiting until the next run.

Today I did early morning HIIT. Yesterday I was pretty sore from my leg/back workout, and I'm still feeling it a little today. I'm anxious for my Eagle to land so I can see what kind of a difference it makes.

Oh and a difference it will make, I assure you :)

It was upper body workout today. I was at work, so the static holds for shoulders and chest are not really accurate, I just loaded up as much as I could.

For the DB press/1-arm row EDT I was back down to 6 reps, so I increased the weight on DB press from 65 to 75, and on 1-arm row from 75 to 85lbs.
