WEEK 2- WO#6

Descriptive expletive for todays workout: doozy

I did this workout on Friday, but was not around this weekend to post it.

Was not too bad, felt great again on Squats. Went up a few pounds to challenge myself. Glad I did. Was tough, but could probably go up a little more even.
Still enjoyin the new shoes for sure :)

SQUAT:
1x6x135
1x4x155
2x3x185
6x3x190

BENCH:
1x6x100
1x5x115
2x4x135
2x3x145
2x2x155
1x4x145
1x5x135
1x6x115
1x7x100

SQUAT:
1x3x140
1x3x165
4x2x195

RACK PULLS:
Just did a few to see how they are, as I havent for a while. No straps today. Felt amazingly stronger than last time I did these. Going to start incorporating them much more!

2x 5sec x 225
305x 10sec
315x7sec*

Used to use straps for anything over 275... now doing it all without.

Raining like crazy out right now! Holy moly its loud and crackling outside.

Looking forward to squat and bench again tomorrow as per the cycle!

Stay tuned ;)

WEEK 3- WO#7

Descriptive expletive for todays workout: Weakness-be-gone!

Today was hell. I think I was tired, but I do not know why today was such a suck! The weights felt heavy and I felt sluggish. Guess the Easter Bunny really did me in..

SQUAT:
1x5x133
2x4x153
2x3x199
5x3x204

BENCH:
1x5x99
1x4x115
2x3x133
5x3x155

SQUAT:
1x5x133
1x5x155
5x5x177

This took me quite a while to complete. I worked out in our other, nicer gym, as it was warm and the other gym I usually workout at has no AC.... boo.

This one was all in kg, so it took me a bit to do the conversions :P

ugh. gotta pick it up wednesday.

Lack of hydration/elevated body temp SAPS strength!! So does new equipment/unfamiliar gyms... something to keep in mind!

Hope that helps..

WEEK 3- WO#8

Descriptive expletive for todays workout: Back-grinder

Today was good. Started the morning a little tired because my roommate was up late and makin noise.
Got in the gym and felt good. Gonna get a belt soon to start using while I DL.

DEADLIFT:
1X4X133
1X4X153
2X4X177
4X4X197

BENCH:
1x6X100
1X5X115
2X4X135
2X3X145
2X2X155
2X3X145
1X4X135
1X5X125
1X6X115
1X7X110
1X8X100

DEADLIFT:
1x5X155
2X5X175
1X265
1X310 PR*?

the 310 was tough, especially after the whole workout. First time I have actually "maxed" on DL though, so not shabby. Hoping to get this up quite a bit over the next two months before the meet. Going to max out this weekend to see where I am on bench. Feeling like the sets are too light. Might need to up them a little :)
Used to pushing myself hard, and bench has been lacking that lately. Squats are close second, might go up there as well. But DL is right on for now....
for now...

Did a little abs after, but sore from a pickup soccer game yesterday. Lots of sprinting and leg work from that lol.

Great work JML!!

Do me a BIG favor and pick this up FIRST, then get one of these two belts, to take the load off your spine BEFORE the big back injury... steals your dream - as it did mine.

Whether or not you have back problems, this is a lift worth looking into. It takes a few sessions to get used to but you can finally open the throttle with very little risk of injury and really reap the benefits of this fantastic routine.

There are two quality hip belts available for sale: The IronMind Hip Belt and the Spud Belt available here:

IRONMIND HIP BELT
https://www6.mailordercentral.com/ironmi ... umber=1220

SPUD SQUAT BELT
https://www.flexcart.com/members/eliteft ... D&pid=1595

If you do order either one, I highly suggest getting the Ironmind loading pin FIRST, which can be found here and makes loading/unloading a snap:

15" LOADING PIN
https://www6.mailordercentral.com/ironmi ... ber=1314-C

I personally use the Ironmind belt and loading pin and have had over 900lbs on there with no problems. The carryover to your barbell squat is almost pound for pound too, provided you're doing top range rack pulls, RDL's, static ab holds etc..,

Solid investment and can also be used for weighted chins, dips, sled
dragging etc.. Very versatile.

Well. I'm still alive if you were wondering. I have been without net for a while. I had to move and wasn't able to really get on over the last month. I finished #37 with a little bit of results. I have been slacking due to graduation/commissioning as well as getting married and taking my honeymoon.
Stay tuned and ill be back on track in a week or so. Hope to see the familiar faces around again soon :)

Wondering where you were!!

BTW, your idea for the 5Faces of Fear(tm) Tshirt... I/we ran with it!!

You should see these things, I like them even better than the "Electric Blue", BP Tee's!!

Thanks again!!!

With respect to Sheiko... 2nd time I've seen this commentary (Big.Jaz being #1), doesn't seem to deliver "as much", vs. straight Westside, etc.

To each his own, gains are gains!! Keep ridin' that Gain/Pain Train JML and I'll help you re-load and re-fine yourself into oblivion!!

Has a nice ring to it, yes?... :)
