Maxakuru's first Blueprint run

Post by maxakuru »

howdy, im max(akuru) and i'm new here

stats:
- 165lbs (lost 5lbs within these first 2 famine days)
- 6'1"
- 18 years old
- 9%BF last time i checked
- average waking HR was 46BPM during off week

status:
- currently on day 3 of famine.. it hurts
- haven't done my workout yet today
- well below 1500cals each day so far
- did 15 minutes of intense biking each day
- today's waking HR was 51BPM
- ordered my kre-anabolyn last night, hopefully i'll have it before i begin phase 2!

questions:
1. does it matter that my chest/shoulders are still sore from day 1 workout? (it wasn't a chest/shoulders day but i had some work to do that strained me up nicely)

2. my waking heart rate today was 5 beats above my recorded average, if I reach 8BPM above tomorrow should I cease famine or continue?

3. I take lisdexamphetamine for ADD, would it affect my BP run at all?

Thanks for the feedback, I'll continue to track my run here!

Answer:

#1: No, you are setting a strong alarm state. Keep on training (except what your doctor will say, regarding question #3)

#2: Continue famine till you end day #5 but skip workout #3 and cardio (again check with your doc about question #3 first!) Personal note: on my second run, I begin refeeding at supper time the 5th day but after the 3rd workout.

#3: WTF? I think you should ask your doctor about all this and weight training and such...

Good luck and glad to have you here!

alright good to hear, thanks for the info

and I've talked to my doc about weight training on my meds and she assured me it's a-okay.. if anything they help in my opinion (for energy at least), just wanted to see if anyone out there is in the same situation with some feedback

A. No, this is to be expected - especially in the absence of that specific macro we restrict.

2. my waking heart rate today was 5 beats above my recorded average, if I reach 8BPM above tomorrow should I cease famine or continue?

A. Cease. ALWAYS err, on the side of caution...

3. I take lisdexamphetamine for ADD, would it affect my BP run at all?

A. Likely not. It's presumably bringing you into a better state of focus, so it should all be good. Plenty of guys on it grow big, so it's doing nothing I'm aware of to counter-act muscle growth.

Great work so far!

Thanks for the feedback, I'll continue to track my run here!

update:

i dont know for certain because i never checked but using a 1RM calculator i decided my old bench press 1 rep max was around 162...

on my first feast workout schedule i established my new 1RM as 170lbs

today was the last day of the loading phase workout schedule and i successfully set a new 1RM at 180lbs touching my chest

weight is now fluctuating between 173lbs and 176lbs

havent checked body fat %, but ive gotten some better definition on my chest and it seems the gap between my pecs is closing in.. thought it was genetics causing it but i suppose its just lack of development! :)

only con is that ive lost a bit of my lower ab definition, but i suspect the cause of that is my new ab routine :s

questions:

1. during the cruise phase should i continue taking my adaptogens?

2. does anyone have an ab routine they find particularly successful?

conclusion:

seems like the blueprint worked very well.. at times i ate very unclean food and skimped heavily on the protein and i made a few mistakes along the way, but i put on about 10lbs and raised my bench press 1RM by 11%

questions:

1. during the cruise phase should i continue taking my adaptogens?

A. Not usually. We typically dis-continue and instead use creatine or... nothing. Doing so allows you to evaluate just how effective your adaptogens are/whether they're worth your dollar...

2. does anyone have an ab routine they find particularly successful?

A. It's all about the tension here, and for this we favor static holds, given the abs are an incredibly strong muscle group. Whichever routine you favor, do perform this LAST in your workout, given pre-fatiguing the abs before a big barbell lift can be dangerous.

A. So cool!
