Who else has held the oceans in his hand?
Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers?
Who else knows the weight of the earth
or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?

Thanksbigla2004 wrote:1) nice bench pr and I see why you are doing the floor presses as your sticking point seemed to be right there
2) you crazy for squatting that outside of a cage w/ no spotter.
And regarding squatting without a spotter.. FWIW I believe squatting WITH a spotter is more dangerous.. because if i start to lose that much weight its going down. period.
I can just throw it backward and fall forward onto my knees
first thing i learned about squatting - how to fail properly
Good point. I mean not being in the rack is closer to how it will be on competition day anyway.
As far as competing in 181's.. if you have a 24 hour weigh-in then you shouldn't be too far off of the bodyweight you need to be at to get there comfortably, but I know a 24 hour weigh in isn't always the case

Wow a 340lb bench press! That was legit!
AND a 510 squat! Geez man. I was surprised at how fast your descent was, then you reversed the weight fairly quickly as well. Sometimes when you see a really heavy squat the athlete will ease into it like an old man into a warm bath but not you!
Side note, can you dunk a basketball? I'd be interested to know.

I do have a 24 hour weigh in, thus my goal is to be floating around 190 2 weeks out from the meetbigla2004 wrote:Good point. I mean not being in the rack is closer to how it will be on competition day anyway.

won't be hard to deplete the last 10lbs as water at ALL
I definitely cannot dunk a basketball! hah I wish!RyannayR wrote:Wow a 340lb bench press! That was legit!

I can just about grab rim
I don't do alot of jumping though, so perhaps with a bit of practice it would be a different story
funny you should mention easing into the squats - I typically do.. I suppose this one just went a bit faster than normal lol
Yeah I wasn't sure if you could dunk or not because I've heard stories about Olympic lifters weighing close to 300lbs with 35 inch vertical leaps just because their power base was so strong from squating. You obviously have a strong base already if you can squat 2.5x your body weight.
I read all about this topic in the "Vertical Jump Development Bible." I'm going to begin implementing these exercises in on my cardio days so I can start slamming on people by mid summer.
Shoot me a PM if you were interested in any of the I info I have.
