I bought some of optimum nutritions weight gainer a while back,
I used it for about 2 weeks and put it away. Wasnt doing much intense lifting or cardio and was probably taking more than I should have so I was gaining some fat.
It seems like a waste to just throw it away though
should I have a shake on workout days or something?
i'm 5'11'' about 170lbs and I do want to be about 190-200 with low bf%
figure I could gain some initial size, but If it would be mainly fat It's not worth it
what's the take on weight gainers?

Make your own!!
Pour the following ingredients into a blender:
- 12 to 16 oz of Pineapple juice
- 2 cups of skim milk powder (alternatively, 2-3 scoops of protein powder)
- 1 large banana
- 2 containers of liquid egg whites (back in the day, this was 6 raw eggs!)
- 1 tablespoon of raw/organic wheat germ
- 1 container of Greek yogurt
- 2/3 scoops low-fat ice cream (Ok I use full fat but what the hell..)
Place into large thermos and sip slowly with every meal.
- This baby is loaded with calories, protein and b-vitamins from the wheat germ
- Bromelain and papain digestive enzymes come from pineapple juice
- Digestive enzymes are important and overlooked for protein absorption
- Rich in potassium/vitamin C, fiber and beneficial bacteria found in the yogurt.
Hope that helps!

I made the one Rob listed in his post. When I wanted a little more calories I threw in some scoops of the gainer (BSN Truemass) i had in place of the protein powder. After all was said and done, my shakes would register in at about 1300 calories.
Just play around with it until you get the calories and flavor you want.
