JlCh - Adding Plates with the BP! 2nd run

Post by JlCh »

Will be starting my 2nd run on the 2nd of Jan. I've taken a few weeks off, as I could just tell that my body was dragging in the gym and will continue to take this week off and try to remember to get my RHR upon awakening.

My first run was ran without ECDY's and only ran with amino's and creatine. I've purchased the BP stack and looking to prove it's description true. I'm not sure how much overall strength I have lost since my last run, but will be going in to max some time this week as well as getting bodyfat and muscles measured for comparing before/after (calipers for BF).

Since the gym likes to do unflexed measurements, here's completely cold (haven't lifted more than a pepsi can in 3 days), flexed measurements:
- Neck: 17 Inches
- Shoulders: 49 Inches
- Chest: 40 Inches (All air blown out of lungs)
- Waist: 35 3/4 Inches (flexed)
- Hips: 39 Inches
- Bicep: 15 1/2 Inches
- Forearm: 13 1/2 Inches
- Quad: 24 1/2 Inches
- Calf: 15 3/4 Inches

Height: 5'10
Weight: 190 (I might be lower or higher, my scale's battery died on me couple weeks ago)

Things I may hold me back:
- Injuries: Wrists, elbows, and lower back seemed to do a number on me last run
- Partying: Well, I have a birthday this month as well as a friend 5 days prior. Chances of getting out of either of those without getting smashed may be slim to none.
- Illness: Last run I came down with bronchitis and strep throat during the last couple weeks of Feast.

I think that covers about everything. It is my second run, and I do not what to expect and where to be cautious. I'm up for any and all suggestions though, so feel free to toss it out there if you want.

Solutions for everything man, here are my suggestions to what may be problematic:

hings I may hold me back:
- Injuries: Wrists, elbows, and lower back seemed to do a number on me last run

A. Consider getting on Cissus pronto. Look for a 5-10% extract. That and AskMass's Ultimate Omega are SUPERB anti-inflammatories and a WHOLE lot more!

On the lower back, can't recommend these highly enough. If you're strapped for cash, get the loading pin and rig something up with a dip belt. Worth every penny and then some!

Whether or not you have back problems, this is a lift worth looking into. It takes a few sessions to get used to but you can finally open the throttle with very little risk of injury and really reap the benefits of this fantastic routine.

There are two quality hip belts available for sale: The IronMind Hip Belt and the Spud Belt available here:

IRONMIND HIP BELT
https://www6.mailordercentral.com/ironmi ... umber=1220

SPUD SQUAT BELT
https://www.flexcart.com/members/eliteft ... D&pid=1595

If you do order either one, I highly suggest getting the Ironmind loading pin, which can be found here and makes loading/unloading a snap:

15" LOADING PIN
https://www6.mailordercentral.com/ironmi ... ber=1314-C

I personally use the Ironmind belt and loading pin and have had over 800lbs on there (partials) with no problems. The carryover to your barbell squat is almost pound for pound too. Solid investment and can also be used for weighted chins, dips, sled dragging etc.. Very versatile.

- Partying: Well, I have a birthday this month as well as a friend 5 days prior. Chances of getting out of either of those without getting smashed may be slim to none.

A. I like partying but like making gains even more! See how how easy that is? (for me anyway). For you, might be different. I'd get it out of my system, then FOCUS. It's either or man. You can't drink heavy and squat heavy. The two just don't mix. I tried that once.

Never again :)

- Illness: Last run I came
down with bronchitis and strep throat during the last couple weeks of Feast.

A. Consider 2 grams of Vit C every 2 waking hours the SECOND you feel something coming on. You'll know where all the bathrooms are (think Hurricane Katrina), but does the trick for me. Every time..

Not sure if I can warrant spending more on supplements at this time. I'll be sure to warm up everything I can very good before jumping into lifting. I was fine with squats on the lower back until the GLP.

Partying, I know it's do one or the other -- but waiting may not help. I'll keep it to a minimum if at all possible (if it even happens).

I actually took a decent chunk of vitamin C earlier this month when I had a cold coming on. Not sure if it helped, but yea. As for the strep/bronchitis, I'm not sure it would've helped. I some how ended up with my head tilted backwards and snored heavily in the night. When I woke up my throat was pretty raw and I knew what was coming. I even started taking Z-Pak 24 hours early just to be on the safe side and still got slammed with it (I've gotten strep 1-2 times a year all my life, lol).

RHR:
Monday - 66
Tues - 64
Wed - 65

None of these were immediately upon awakening, but they're all right around the same place so we'll see.

I just spent 3 weeks throwing around cumbersome 50-150 lbs boxes and my back did great. I bent over last night to pick up the 1 lbs (if that) wood carrying bag and something popped in my back. I'm not out of commission or anything, but it's definitely a bit tight. Pretty ironic though :). Will keep it updated on whether or not I want to waste $$ (supplements) on a run that will end in injury.

Speaking of which, the supps just came in along with the BP t-shirt.

Kind of funny though. The mail lady was on the mailbox prior to our house when I got home and as I got out of the car she was driving to our mailbox. When I got in I decided to check the email for where the supps were and they said they were here and out to be delivered. I go out to the mailbox and there was a letter in there saying that no one was here so she didn't deliver it. Not only did I just get here, but my sister was outside as well lol.

Not as thick as I thought and I thought there was some sort of "tribal" design on it that I thought looked spiffy, but over all I like the shirt. I think DNA helix's going up the sides may have been a good add as well, but kind of hard to say without seeing a design prior to producing.

Will wear it frequently :).

I'll take note of that next time around. I listen to feedback, I learn from you.

It's interesting. I showed it to my Grandfather and he saw steps on a ladder. Thought it meant Believers start at the bottom and climb to the top.

Showed it to my grandmother and she saw a horse.

Let me know what others see in it :)

No, I meant that the example I saw literally had extra designs on it, lol. Here's the preview I saw:

Image

The shirt I received is plain blue with the logo/words written on it. No extra spikey/tribal design stuff on it.

On another, on topic note, I stayed at my grandparents last night and seemed to be having a little sick issue. Nose is running a bit due to how cold it was in there and had some post nasal drip so my throat is sore. Should I start taking the vitamin C (already started) and wing out famine? Or wait another week and start it to see if it clears up?

What? It didn't have the Ecdy 20-H logo on it? Please notify me immediately if it didn't. That's not cool...

I'd keep hammering the C. If the cold progresses any farther or you at all don't feel up to it, discontinue.

Damn that shirt better have that logo on it...

I'm not getting what I meant across properly. I'll try again.

It has the correct logo's and phrases on it. It, however, doesn't have the extra designs around the edges that I thought it did. To be a bit more specific on screen shots:

Front:

Back:

Instead it's just plain blue. Neither are bad, I just may have preferred a little more "pizazz" to it (a lot of people probably wouldn't).

Well, woke up at 54 RHR this morning which seems about 10 lower than any previous recordings. I never remembered to take it when I first woke up which could be the reason for the higher numbers. Also, I've been very lax on diet for the past 2-3 weeks and my weight is a bit lower than anticipated -- so I think those numbers may influx quite a bit depending on water intake. Anyway, I decided to start famine today. I'll go to the gym later tonight but:

RHR: 54
Weight: 188.6
