Just purchased some Vitol Russian bear 5000 weight gainer and it contains
siberian ginseng 1g per every gallon of milk.
is siberian ginseng a effective adaptogen and at what dose does it impart benefits?

and I think ive seen rhidola rosea in several products... never heard of siberian ginseng before tho

Oh no.... please return it for a refund. Read the label, you have to mix half the freakin' container with a TON of milk to get those "5000" calories!
SOLUTION: MAKE YOUR OWN!
Pour the following ingredients into a blender:
- 12/16 oz of Pineapple juice
- 2 cups of skim milk powder (alternatively, 3 scoops of MassPro)
- 1 large banana
- 2 containers of liquid egg whites (back in the day, this was 6 raw eggs!)
- 1 tablespoon of raw/organic wheat germ
- 1 container of Greek yogurt
- 2/3 scoops low-fat ice cream (Ok I use full fat but what the hell..)
Place into large thermos and sip slowly with every meal.
- This baby is loaded with calories, protein and b-vitamins from the wheat
germ
- Bromelain and papain digestive enzymes come from pineapple juice
- Digestive enzymes are important and overlooked for protein absorption
- Rich in potassium/vitamin C, fiber and beneficial bacteria found in the yogurt.
Problem solved
On the Ginseng, it's an INCREDIBLE adaptogen, IF you get the good stuff.

Eleutherococcus, so-called "Siberian Ginseng", isn't part of the Ginseng family at all. It is a completely different plant from a different part of the world which was renamed by marketers to confuse consumers and play off the rep of the Panax varieties.
Red Korean Ginseng is the most potent of all legitimate Ginseng's.
Eleutherococcus is not completely worthless, but it is more of a mild bio-stimulant akin to the effects found in a weak iced tea in my experience and study. It does not remotely compare to even the low end, non-aged Panax varieties of true Ginseng.

you mix 1/3 the container with a gallon of milk ..
so thats 3 servings per container
im not going to be drinking a gallon of it per day..
if you break it down there is 8 servings per gallon of milk giving about 625 cals per 16oz serving.
so 3 gallons + 1 jug = 24 16oz servings for a grand total of 15000 calories..
you mix 1/3 the container with a gallon of milk ..
so thats 3 servings per container

as to your homemade gainer... it looks disgusting.. no offense..
really though I might try to make it if I had a blender.. but even then thats ALOT of ingredients.
how much gainer does that make?
it looks like about 1800 calories according to fit day but how much liquid is this ? i mean theres 16oz of pineapple juice and 16 oz of greek yogurt and 2 containers of eggwhites..

ok cool, thanks mass. I was looking at it because I found that I could get siberian ginseng VERY cheap.. and if it was legit I could use it as feast adaptogen.. I currently am using Maca for cruise(love maca!).. and Im going to get a capsule machine and cap up all of my maca.. so i dont have to taste the powder... I was gonna do the same with siberian ginseng if it had some merit.
and thanks for the link to the recipes.. gave me some ideas..
I think ill be adding heavy cream to my gainer and also oatmeal... (I have a bunch of uncooked oatmeal here) and maybee some honey.. I will be eating a BUNCH of calories the first 3 days of feast :)
