Its all part of the BP 3.0 program he's running trials on. Since saying on the internet all the time put his body in a state of homeostasis, he had to go for a week of Cyber Famine to break the cycle. :D

EDT blocks are optional. Many do them because if they just stick to benching and squating, they wont feel like the got a good workout. If you have the energy, it is encouraged to perform the EDT blocks.
