Reverse Pyramid Training

Has anyone tried Reverse Pyramid Training promoted by Martin Berkhan of leangains? I'm planning out my next BP run on a cut, and am thinking about using this type of training. My questions: 1] What did your split look like? 2] What were the number and rest periods of your warmup and working sets? 3]...

Dr. Layne Norton has good advice on occlusion training. I don't believe I can post links, but do a search for "layne norton occlusion training", and you should get a link to his ironman article and several youtube videos. Basically, you wrap some sort of tourniquet around your upper arm, j...

Great idea for the next BP run, if I do EDT blocks. Thanks DaCookie. I don't train at metroflex, or outside; so, no 95 degree heat for me. I can only imagine how terrible that was.

Brutality

The 3.0 6X12X 1 min rest squat and leg curl EDT block. Possibly worse than mortal kombat :) Although it's the lightest leg day, this workout is plain brutal.

Occlusion on 3.0

Hi Guys. I am thinking about adding an occlusion superset for arms at the end of 3.0 upper body days. The occlusion will be a the "commonly" used 4 sets: 1 X 30 reps, 3 X 15 reps. The superset is biceps immediately into triceps with about 30 sec. to 1 min. of rest in between supersets, and...

Thanks for the advice guys. It looks like I'm not the only one that has a hard time staying away from the gym. haha. I will stick with 1 on 2 off through workout 4 and then reevaluate. Given your advice, it looks like if I do change things up, I should probably use a frequency of no more than 1 on 1...

3.0 Training Frequency

I'm running BP 3.0 for the first time. I'll be starting the feast phase this week and have some questions on training frequency. Rob recommends 1 on and 2 off to start, and I will follow his guidelines. I'm used to training 6 day/week, which was probably too much based on my less than stellar gains ...

Registered! After you helped Carl gain size on his arms, I've been intrigued by this program, and I'm excited that you're offering a course on it. Given how hard it is to add size over periods much longer than a day, if the tape measure permanently moves in the positive direction by any amount after...

Thanks bigpelo. Great advice! I'll be following your log.

Anyone else have input. I'd especially like to hear what others have to say about substitute exercises if you don't have a power rack.

Switching to BP 3.0: First run and some questions

Hi BP community. I'm starting a 3.0 run and am currently in day 3 of famine. As all of you know, this is not fun. Before BP, I'd been training 6 days per week for 1-2 hrs. per session. My new, more constrained schedule, recent lack of progress, and hearing several people advocate abbreviated trainin...

Thanks for your response aron7awol. I'll check out your log. I'm currently in famine, and will be putting up an introductory post soon.

This is a great question aron7awol, and is exactly what I was questioning in formulating my calories for 3.0.

Rob, could you comment on what maintenance calories you are using in 3.0 calculations: workout days, off-days, or weekly average? Thanks.

KarboLoad vs Karbolyn

I'm new to the BP, and am looking forward to running 3.0 shortly. I'm ordering some ingredients for the formula, and it's unfortunate how expensive Karbolyn is. I've run across a carb product that appears to be a Karbolyn clone at xxxnolinksplease.com called KarboLoad, derived from rice, potato, and...
